Payment Ready / Tap-to-Pay
Finish the job. Let them tap to pay.
Accept an eligible contactless card or digital wallet on a supported phone, with personal help getting the setup working and learning how to use it.
What does Tap-to-Pay give you?
Your compatible business phone becomes the contactless reader. Enter the amount in the supported app, invite the customer to tap their card or wallet, and check the payment result.
You can offer a card payment while you are already with the customer. That gives them a convenient way to pay and can reduce the follow-up needed to request payment later.
Use the phone you already carry.
With a supported phone, app, account, and processor, you can accept a contactless tap without purchasing and managing a separate card reader.
Make the moment of payment simple.
Useful for contractors, cleaners, mobile detailers, repair services, delivery work, and vendors. Your customer can use an eligible contactless card or digital wallet while you are together.
A tap can qualify differently from a keyed sale.
Qualifying card-present transactions often have lower interchange than manually keyed transactions. Your actual charge still depends on the card, your merchant agreement, and how the transaction qualifies.
Gateway + Tap-to-Pay: know your service fees.
Regular setup value: $250. Your Payment Ready package: $199. Get your Vibe Card, payment gateway, and Tap-to-Pay set up together, with personal guidance and the agreed onboarding help.
| Service | Regular setup price / package benefit | Monthly | Per transaction |
|---|---|---|---|
| Payment gateway | Regular setup: $50 Included in your $199 package | $14 per processor connection | $0.12 per billable gateway transaction |
| Tap-to-Pay | Regular setup: $50 Included in your $199 package | $0 per device | $0.20 per initiated tap |
Vibe Card $150 + gateway $50 + Tap-to-Pay $50 = $250 in regular setup prices. Your package includes all three for $199 total.
That is $49 more than Vibe Card setup alone to add both payment setups—about $25 each. There are no additional setup charges for these three services.
Your package payments remain $75 + $75 + $49. Monthly service and transaction charges continue separately, as shown here.
Ongoing gateway + Tap-to-Pay example: $14 monthly for one processor connection, plus $0.32 for one billable gateway sale and one initiated tap. Card-processing charges are additional.
The setup prices are Vibe Coding of Augusta service prices. Ongoing gateway and Tap-to-Pay amounts come from the Direct Opening customer schedule checked October 13, 2026. Gateway transaction fees also apply to billable authorizations, captures, voids, refunds, credits, updates, validations, and settlements; additional actions may add charges. Card-processing charges include interchange, network assessments, and processor charges under your merchant agreement. A separate Mobile Payments license, if enabled, is $5 per device per month; it is distinct from the $0 Tap-to-Pay device fee. Other optional services are quoted separately.
Vibe Card service is separate: choose $1.99/month or $19.99/year, starting when the card is live. We explain the complete merchant fee schedule before your first package payment.
Why tapping instead of typing can matter
| How payment is taken | What happens | Why it matters to your business |
|---|---|---|
| Contactless tap | The customer taps an eligible card or wallet on the supported phone. | Can qualify as a card-present payment, with potentially lower interchange than keyed entry. |
| Manually keyed payment | You type card details into a payment tool. | Generally treated as card-not-present, with different risk and potentially higher processing costs. |
Tap-to-Pay is how you accept a payment. Interchange-plus is a pricing model. With interchange-plus, the applicable interchange is passed through with the agreed markup and other fees. Tapping does not automatically put an account on that plan or guarantee a lower total bill.
We review the proposed fee schedule with you so you can see the cost of accepting payments—not just the cost of getting set up.
What can the difference look like at $1,000 a month?
Here is a real published-rate example: 20 sales of $50 each, every month. Square Free lists 2.6% + 15¢ for tap, dip, or swipe, compared with 3.5% + 15¢ for manual entry. Using those rates:
| Payment method | Monthly processing cost | 12-month processing cost |
|---|---|---|
| Type the card number | $38 | $456 |
| Tap in person | $29 | $348 |
$9 less per month. $108 less over a year in this example.
At $20,000 a month, the difference grows.
| Monthly card sales | Less per month | Less over 12 months |
|---|---|---|
| $1,000 | $9 | $108 |
| $20,000 | $180 | $2,160 |
At $20,000 a month with 400 sales of $50, the example is $760/month for manually keyed payments versus $580/month for in-person taps. Over a year, that is $9,120 versus $6,960. The same rates and transaction size are used in both scenarios.
This is an illustration using Square Free’s public U.S. rates, checked October 14, 2026—not an industry average or a quote for your NMI account. It compares payment methods within the same plan. Domestic cards, the same sales volume and transaction size, and no refunds are assumed. Do not combine these Square rates with the NMI service-fee table above.

Keyed: $1,000 × 3.5% + 20 × $0.15 = $38/month. Tap: $1,000 × 2.6% + 20 × $0.15 = $29/month. Multiply each by 12. Source: Square Support, “Learn about Square fees,” Square Free payment-type schedule.

What you pay us to get ready
$199 for Payment Ready: $75 + $75 + $49.
The package includes assisted gateway and supported mobile-payment setup, your normally $150 Vibe Card setup, a personal walkthrough, and up to two hours of onboarding help during the first 30 days from card activation.
The package is $49 more than standalone Vibe Card setup. That comparison does not include transaction or ongoing service fees.

Processing charges are separate from the $199 setup package. Your written merchant quote will identify:
- The percentage and any fixed amount charged per transaction.
- How card-present and keyed payments are priced.
- Any monthly, gateway, account, or other provider charges.
Your exact rates depend on the approved merchant account. We explain those charges before your first package payment.
Vibe Card service: $1.99/month or $19.99/year from card activation. Optional domain: $25 for one year. Optional hardware is priced separately.
We help you use it, not just install it.
- Check the fit: confirm the phone, app, processor, and account work together before you buy.
- Handle the setup: help with your application and configure the approved payment tools.
- Practice together: walk through entering an amount, checking the result, and finding the receipt.
- Stay available: guide you by phone and through the narrated steps as you get comfortable.
Where does iProcess fit?
iProcess is NMI’s mobile payment app for supported payment methods, transaction history, and digital receipts. Those tools help you check a sale and give the customer a record of payment.
Tap-to-Pay requires the correct supported app and account combination. We confirm that combination instead of assuming that installing iProcess alone enables contactless acceptance.
Payment approval and deposit into your bank are different steps. Your provider determines funding timing.

This step turns the approved payment tools into something you know how to use. Once your merchant account is approved, we help configure the supported gateway and mobile payment setup. Have your phone available. We walk through taking a payment, checking its result, and finding the receipt. Follow along at your own pace where the instructions are clear, or call us so we can work through the setup together. We take care of the configuration work within your approved package. The second seventy-five dollars is due when the account is approved, payments work, and your Vibe Card is live. After payment two and successful handover notice, your forty-eight-hour testing period begins.
