The office is miles away. The payment process still needs to be clear.
A Waynesboro service technician finishes a job at the customer’s property. The customer approves the work and wants to pay before the crew leaves. NMI describes iProcess as a mobile payment app for supported iOS and Android devices. It can send receipts, handle refunds, and pair with certain EMV terminals. The exact app, device, terminal, and merchant setup must be checked.
What is the field payment sequence?
- Match the approved work to the customer and invoice.
- Confirm the amount with the customer before submission.
- Use the supported payment method and equipment for that merchant.
- Check the final gateway result before marking the job paid.
- Send the receipt and reconcile the transaction with the job.
Can every technician use any phone?
No such blanket promise is safe. Check supported devices, readers, payment types, merchant permissions, and cellular coverage. Give each worker a traceable account when the setup supports it. A shared login makes refunds and mistakes harder to investigate. Decide who can reverse a sale and who handles payment questions after hours.
What happens when the connection fails?
Test in the actual service area. Augusta and nearby rural routes can have very different connectivity. Run a successful charge, decline, interrupted connection, refund, and receipt test. If a connection drops, check the transaction record before trying again. Do not assume an offline queue is available or safe for this configuration.
How can an owner measure the benefit?
For a pilot, log completed visits, payments collected on site, time to issue receipts, failed attempts, and calls back to the office. If ten jobs each week currently require a follow-up call, the workload to examine is ten calls. That does not establish additional revenue or a guaranteed collection rate.
Trust and security
Do not photograph cards or put payment details on work orders. Secure lost devices promptly and remove former employees’ access. Explain how customers obtain receipts and dispute errors.
Vibe Coding of Augusta can help a CSRA service crew map the job-to-payment process and prepare a realistic field test.

The same $10,000 month, two ways of taking the card
Example: 40 jobs of $250. Uses Square’s published rates, which many contractors start with.
The gap is about $90 a month in this example. Illustrative only: your numbers will differ. Rates checked October 2026 and can change.
